![]() Safc type devices are just a huge pain with any kind of large injectors and cause a ton of other problems that, to me at least, aren't worth it considering all the other options available currently.ĭsmlink is fine and well for most dsm tuners, and it will do what most people need but the ability to flash ecus now has really opened up the budget options if you trust yourself to not edit the wrong things. Personally I DESPISE the gm maft translator setup, even using the gm maf sensor with dsmlink is unreliable and inconsistent which for tuning is obviously exactly the opposite of what you want. Piggyback tuning is pretty well obsolete IMO at this point. If you guys could help list them clearly. Im trying to figure out all the Pos and Neg of the different options. But since im working with a "clean slate". Im sure most of you guys have gone down one path or another. If I need to get a eprom ECU, I thought about trying to use a 95 so i can use obd2. Now what I want is to be able to tune on my own from a laptop (does anyone make anything android compatible yet?) Stick with the stock ECu and work from there, or go after market, AEM, MS, etc etc.įor starters my current 92 laser (turbo) ecu is not an Eprom. So basically thats what im trying to figure out. However I start to wonder after all the add ons, converters, wiring etc etc, it might cost about the same as aftermarket ecu or something. ![]() Im looking for the cheapest tuning options available.
